background

Until 1950, separate gaming operations were carried out in North and South Württemberg due to their affiliation to different occupation zones . While Nordwürttemberg was in the American zone and the South German Football Association belonged Südwürttemberg was in the French zone of occupation and belonged to the South West German Football Association . In 1950, Südwürttemberg moved to the South German Football Association. The group south of the Oberliga Südwest and the Landesliga Südwürttemberg were dissolved and their clubs were integrated into the southern German game operations. The new 1st Amateur League Württemberg was formed from

  • nine clubs of the previous regional league (North) Württemberg
  • four clubs of the dissolved group south of the Oberliga Südwest ( VfR Schwenningen , FV Ebingen , VfB Friedrichshafen and the SpVgg Trossingen )
  • three clubs of the disbanded Landesliga Südwürttemberg (Olympia Laupheim, SV Tailfingen and SV Weingarten)
  • two climbers from (North) Württemberg (VfL Sindelfingen and FV Kornwestheim)
