The 1st amateur league Württemberg 1955/56 was the sixth season of the 1st amateur league . The VfR Heilbronn won the Württemberg Football Championship with two points ahead of the tied teams of SSV Ulm 1928 and VfB Friedrichshafen . Heilbronn qualified for the promotion round to the II. Division , in which they finished second and rose together with the SpVgg Neu-Isenburg .

The SC Stuttgart got off to the 2nd Amateur League. Since no Württemberg team was relegated from the II. Division and VfR Heilbronn was able to rise, there were no further relegated teams.
