history

The history of the SV Blau-Weiss begins with the Central Sports Association Blue White, which was founded on June 9 1949th On December 4th of the same year, the addition "blue and white" had to be deleted from the BSG name, as such parts of the name aroused associations with the frowned upon bourgeois sport. “Progress” was defined as a new addition to the name. In 1952 the ZBSG was dissolved, and on April 28, 1952, the DraWeBa machine factory founded the company sports association Motor Neustadt (Orla). On June 4, 1952, the new “Rote Erde” stadium was inaugurated with the friendly match between Motor Neustadt and VfB Allemania Dortmund (0: 3). When the machine factory had to stop supporting the company sports community after German reunification and the associated economic changes, BSG members founded the new sports club Blau-Weiß 90 Neustadt (Orla) on July 19, 1990.

Development of the sport of football

Between 1949 and 1952 the ZBSG took part in the Thuringian soccer championship . With 9th place in the Thuringia regional football league in 1951/52 , the now founded BSG Motor qualified for the newly created third-class regional football league Gera . This league remained the sporting home of the BSG football section until 1965. In the 1962/63 season Neustadt won the season, but lost to Chemie Jena in two games with 2: 0 and 1: 4 in the fight for the district championship . In 1965, BSG Motor had to relegate to the fourth class district class and then developed into an "elevator team" between the district class and the district league. Between 1975 and 1982 the people of Neustadt were able to hold their own for eight years in the district league, after which there was again an up and down between third and fourth division. From 1987 Motor Neustadt remained in the district class until the end of the GDR soccer match in 1990.
