Karl-Heinz Singer (born March 15, 1928 in Lauter / Sa. , † March 26, 2005 in Rostock ) was a football player from the GDR .

The left-back played for BSG Empor Lauter until 1954 . With them he rose to the GDR league in 1952 .

When the Empor Lauter players were delegated to the newly founded SC Empor Rostock in November 1954 , he went to the Baltic coast as one of twelve Empor players from the Ore Mountains. When SC Empor Rostock played its first league game against Chemie Karl-Marx-Stadt in the Ostseestadion on November 14, 1954 , Singer was in the starting line-up. For Empor Rostock he played until 1960, completed 104 league and 25 league games , but failed to score. In the 1956 season he rose with Empor Rostock as the bottom of the league table and managed the direct rise in the following year.

During his time in Rostock, Singer reached the final of the FDGB Cup three times (1955, 1957 and 1960). In 1955, Empor lost 3-2 to SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt after extra time and in 1957 to SC Lokomotive Leipzig 1: 2 after extra time. Singer played both finals over the full distance. He was not used in the 2: 3 final defeat in 1960 against SC Motor Jena .
