II. GDR League 1957
The II. DDR-Liga 1957 was the third season of the II. DDR-Liga, founded in 1955 . It was the third highest division in the German Football Association of the GDR (DFV) after the GDR Oberliga and the first GDR League .
Game operation
The II. GDR League 1957 was carried out analogously to the two championships in 1955 and 1956, based on the Soviet model, in which football matches were aligned with the calendar year. It was also the last season with two seasons, in the following year the II. League was increased to five seasons.

The northern season was played on 26 match days with a return leg. Season winner and advanced to the DDR-Liga was Dynamo Eisleben . The SG Dynamo Schwerin and construction Grossraeschen increased in the district league range from. In the following season, relegated Motor Dessau moved from the GDR league to the second GDR league.
