The SV Waren 09 is a German football club from Waren (Müritz) in the Mecklenburg Lake District . The home of the 400-member club is the Müritz Stadium , which can seat 5,000 spectators.

SV Waren 09 was founded in 1909 as Warener FC 1909 . The Mecklenburgers took part in gaming from 1910, but were unable to achieve any notable successes until 1945.
After the end of the war, the association was dissolved and re-established as SG Waren . This was followed by several changes of name by the mid-1950s. Initially renamed to Empor / Bau Waren and Aufbau Waren , the association was called Lok / Bau Waren from 1953 and BSG Lok Waren-Rethwisch from 1954 . Lok Waren won the championship in the district league Neubrandenburg in 1958 and 1960 before Empor Neustrelitz and was promoted to the 2nd GDR league . Waren belonged to the third highest division of the GDR at that time until it was dissolved in 1963.
In 1966 the football department changed from Lok Waren to Verkehrsbetriebe Waren and from then on played as BSG VB Waren. In 1972 VB Waren was promoted to the GDR league for the first time . As a knocked-down bottom of the table, the immediate relegation took place. In 1973 goods was able to prevail in the district league in front of Nord Torgelow and rise again. After only one year in the second division, the club rose again in 1974 in the district league and in 1977 in the district class.
After the fall of the Wall in 1990 the name was changed to SV Waren 09 . In terms of sport, the club was able to improve steadily through the district and regional leagues. Since 2002, SV Waren 09 has played in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Association League . Due to the decision of the Germania Schöneiche club not to compete in the Oberliga Nordost (North) again in the 2012/2013 season and because other better-placed clubs had not submitted any license documents, Waren 09 received the vacant starting position in the Oberliga Nordost as fourth in the table in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Association . After one season they were relegated to the association league, but managed to get promoted back to the league in 2014. Towards the end of the 2014/15 season, the club's management decided to withdraw the team from the league for cost reasons and to start in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania regional class. After four years, he was promoted to the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state league in 2019 .
