Ulrich "Ulli" Egerer (born April 14, 1943 ) is a former German football player who played for BSG Wismut Gera in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football, in 1966/67 .

Athletic career

Until 1962, Egerer played in the company sports community (BSG) chemistry in Bad Köstritz , Thuringia , whose first soccer team was represented in the fifth-class district class Gera . He then moved to the second-rate GDR league club Wismut Gera, where he played in the second team in the fourth-rate district league in 1962/63. In the following two seasons he was used 14 times in 60 GDR league games played. When the BSG Wismut fought for promotion to the GDR league in 1965/66, Egerer was in 14 of the 30 point games.

In the league season 1966/67 Egerer was used in 17 of the 26 point games. He benefited from the fact that Wismut Gera had to struggle with player failures throughout the season. As a substitute he was repeatedly called up in different positions in attack and in midfield. Wismut Gera finished the season from bottom of the table and had to relegate back to the GDR league after a year.

After Egerer was finally promoted to a regular at BSG Wismut in 1967/68 with 22 appearances in 30 league games, he was drafted into military service in the National People's Army for 18 months after only one point game in the 1968/69 season . During this time he was able to continue playing football in the GDR league with the army sports community Vorwärts Stralsund . By April 1970 he was used in 26 out of 43 possible point games in Stralsund.

Then Egerer returned to BSG Wismut Gera and played a point game for Gera in the GDR league for the rest of the 1969/70 season. In the 1970/71 to 1973/74 seasons, Egerer was only part of the expanded player base. Of the 96 GDR league games played, he played only 55 games. In his last GDR league season 1973/74, he was used again in eleven of 22 league games. Since the BSG Wismut had become season winner, they participated in the promotion games to the league, but remained unsuccessful as bottom of the table. Egerer was used three times in the eight games. After saying goodbye to competitive sports in the summer of 1974, he was able to look back on 17 top division games and 133 second division matches (26 of them for Vorwärts Stralsund). Only in the GDR league did he score five goals for Wismut Gera.
