Hans Mihalovicz (born September 16, 1938 in Engerau near Preßburg ) is a former German soccer player who played for SC Einheit Dresden and BSG Wismut Gera in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR soccer , in the 1960s .

Athletic career

Mihalovicz began his career as a football player in Mecklenburg with the company sports association (BSG) Empor Neustrelitz . At the age of 19 he went to Saxony to join the SC Einheit Dresden. There he was used from 1958 mainly in the reserve team of the GDR upper division, before he came to his first two games in the upper division in the 1960 season. In the first two point games he was used as a left winger. In the 1961/62 season, which ran over 39 rounds to switch to the summer-spring rhythm, Mihalovicz was called up in another four league games. These took place between the 6th and 12th matchday, only twice Mihalovicz was a striker in the starting eleven.

For the 1962/63 season he returned to Mecklenburg and now played for the second-rate GDR league club SC Neubrandenburg . There, too, he could not really gain a foothold and after seven league matches in the first half of the season he moved to the also second-class BSG Wismut in Gera, Thuringia . After only five games from spring 1963 to spring 1964, Mihalovicz finally found his way in the GDR league in the 1964/65 season. In the 30 league games played, he was called up 15 times and also scored four goals. He made his final breakthrough in 1965/66 when he completed 29 of the 30 point games, albeit without scoring. He was thus significantly involved in the rise of the BSG Wismut in the GDR Oberliga.

For the league season 1966/67 Wismut Gera strengthened with numerous new players, whereby Mihalovicz fell out of the regular team again. He only benefited from the long-term failure of defender Kurt Kosmanek , on whose behalf Mihalovicz was used in seven league games. The Geraer could not assert themselves in the upper league and were relegated again after the end of the season. Mihalovicz ended his career as a football player at the age of 28. In his eight years in the Oberliga and the GDR league, he had only made 69 league games and five goals.
