Anna Duque y González de Durana

Anna Duque y González de Durana (* 1976 in Hamburg ) is a German - Spanish art historian and cultural manager . She is the director of the Galerie Capitain Petzel in Berlin .

Life

After graduating from the Archbishop's Clara-Fey-Gymnasium in Bonn , Duque y González studied art history , Romance studies and political science in Passau , Bonn , Madrid and Berlin . In 2004 she graduated from the Humboldt University of Berlin with Michael Diers with a master's thesis on the sculptural work of Eduardo Chillida . Since 2001 Duque y González has been active in exhibition management and international art trade, among others at Galerie Nordenhake (Berlin / Stockholm), Arndt & Partner (Berlin / Zurich / New York), Kewenig (Berlin / Palma de Mallorca) and as a specialist in postal War & Contemporary Art at Christie's auction house . From 2014 to 2020 she was the head of the studio of Wim Wenders and Donata Wenders, responsible for all exhibitions and art projects.

Private

Anna Duque y González comes from a family of cultural workers . Her grandfather Werner Otto Lemke was a Germanist and classical philologist , her great-grandfather Karl Reitz was one of the most famous chamber musicians of his time, her great-great-uncle Hans Walter Reitz was an architect of the New Building style in Germany, who was portrayed by August Sander in the series People of the 20th Century is.

Duque y González lives with her family in Berlin.
