history

The sacred building was built between 1446 and 1455. Around 1745, master bricklayer Christian Höhne from Lübben carried out extensive renovations. Between 1957 and 1959 the parish renovated the building. In 1986 and 1987 further work was carried out on the interior and around 1995 on the building envelope.

Building description

The main building material used was field stone , some of which was plastered . It is uncut and not layered. The choir has not moved in and has a three-sided choir closure. On each side there is a large, pressed-segment arched window, the border of which is emphasized with a plastered fascia . In the roof to the east is a small window with a transverse gable roof .

The nave has a rectangular floor plan. On the north side there is another window to the east. In the middle is a rectangular gate, to the right of it another window. It takes up the shape of the ship and choir, but is drawn down significantly lower. Large-scale repair work can be seen on the door and windows. There are two smaller windows on the south side and one larger window on the west side. There are some remains of the plastered bottles. The ship has a simple gable roof.

The west tower is rectangular and slightly drawn in. It is shifted slightly to the north and is there in alignment with the north wall of the ship. On the north side is also the rectangular gate. The remaining structure is windowless far beyond the roof ridge of the ship. Above it is a narrow, plastered and rectangular attachment that merges into an octagonal area. In this are small, pressed-segment arch -shaped sound arcades on four sides . This is followed by a curved tower hood with a lantern , which ends with a tower ball and weather vane .

Furnishing

Gravestones of those of Manteuffel

The pulpit altar created Krossener artist Gottfried Gerichen in 1748. It consists of a shrine , in front of a polygonal pulpit basket was attached. In the altar sheet the crucifixion of Christ can be seen, in the altar extract a dove as a symbol for the Holy Spirit and the name of God. On the side of the cartouche, the coats of arms of the donors are immortalized. The cup-shaped baptismal font was created from sandstone in 1753 by Gottlieb Friedrich Müller from Torgau . This includes a square cup , which in turn is decorated with the donor's coat of arms. A matching, carved lid can be used as a lectern.

The horseshoe gallery was added to the building during the renovation in around 1745. The parapets are decorated with quotations from the Bible and rococo cartouches. In the west the gallery arches towards the nave. There is a painting of the resurrection of Jesus attached there; underneath a glazed patronage box . The inside of the structure is flat covered.

On the south side of the church tower are several tombs of those of Manteuffel.
