Krossen ( Lower Sorbian Krosno ) is part of the municipality Drahnsdorf in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg . Until January 1, 1974, Krossen was an independent municipality. The village belongs to the Unterspreewald office .

location

Krossen is located in the transition from the Lower Fläming to the Lusatian Heideland, about 20 kilometers as the crow flies west of the district town of Lübben and about twelve kilometers northwest of Luckau . Surrounding villages are Falkenhain in the north, the municipality of Sagritz in the northeast , which belongs to the city of Golßen , the district of Jetsch in the municipality of Kasel-Golzig in the east, the Luckau districts and municipalities of Caule in the southeast and Kümmritz in the south, which belongs to the city of Dahme / Mark in District Teltow-Fläming belonging district Wildau-Wentdorf in the southwest and Drahnsdorf in the west.

The village is on the L71 state road and the K6138 county road. The Berlin – Halle railway with the Drahnsdorf stop is nearby . The Dahme flows west of Krossen .

Krossen was first mentioned as a church village in the articles of the diocese of Meißen from 1346 . The place name, which comes from Old Sorbian , denotes sheds or wattle , the designation motif of the place is unclear. Krossen belonged to the Golßen rule .

After the Congress of Vienna , the previously Saxon community of Krossen came to Prussia . There the community was in the district of Luckau in the administrative district of Frankfurt . According to the topographical-statistical overview of the administrative district of Frankfurt an der Oder from 1844, there were 42 fireplaces in Krossen at that time , with a total of 240 inhabitants. There were two watermills in the place. In 1867, Krossen had 224 residents in 30 buildings. The manor belonged to the former Minister of State Otto Theodor von Manteuffel .

During the GDR district reform on July 25, 1952, Krossen was assigned to the newly formed Luckau district in the Cottbus district . On January 1, 1974, Krossen was incorporated into Drahnsdorf. After reunification , the Luckau district was renamed the Luckau district . On 20 August 1992 Krusty was as part Drahnsdorfs the Golßener Land connected and on 6 December 1993, the village came in the course of district reform in the Dahme-Spreewald . On January 1, 2013, the Golßener Land office was dissolved and Drahnsdorf and its districts moved to the Unterspreewald office .

Attractions

  • The village church in Krossen was built in the middle of the 15th century. Around 1745, master bricklayer Christian Höhne from Lübben carried out numerous renovations. Inside there is a pulpit altar from 1748.
  • Wall painting on the fire station of the volunteer fire brigade Krossen with a picture of the former castle and a historical fire brigade.

Personalities

  • Otto Theodor von Manteuffel (1805–1882), politician, Prussian Prime Minister from 1850 to 1858, lived in Drahnsdorf after his release
