The Tulýmski Kámen ( Russian Тулымский камень ) is a mountain range in the Northern Urals and with 1496 m (according to other sources 1469 m ) the highest elevation in the Perm region ( Russia ).
The 35-kilometer-long and up to seven-kilometer wide ridge is located in the northeastern part of the Perm region in the Wischera- Sapowednik nature reserve . The mountain range has slopes up to 45 degrees, especially the slopes on the east side can be at risk of avalanches in winter . Snow fields on the mountain can last the entire summer season.
The spruce taiga dominates up to a height of around 700 meters above sea level , above that there are still birch trees , crooked wood and tundra vegetation . The rivers and streams that arise on the mountain flow into the Wischera , which flows along the foot of the Tulymski Kamen.
The name of the mountain probably comes from the Tatar word tulym , which means stones protruding from a river.
