course
The Wischera rises at a height of about 800 m on the western flank of the here called Pojassowy Kamen , almost 1200 meters high main ridge of the Northern Urals. The source is located in the extreme northeast of the Perm region . The Wischera continues to flow in south to south-westerly directions through the Northern Urals or along its western foot, past the highest elevation in the Perm Tulymski Kamen at 1496 meters , in sections as a fast mountain river in a narrow valley. The Wischera flows along its entire length in the territory of the Perm region, up to its confluence with the Kama, which is dammed here to form the Kama reservoir , about 25 kilometers northwest of Solikamsk .
Hydrography
The catchment area of the Wischera covers 31,200 km².
The most important tributaries are the Kolwa from the right and the Jaswa from the left . Below the Kolwa estuary, above the dammed section near the mouth, the Wischera is about 250 meters wide and up to three meters deep; their flow velocity here is 0.5 m / s.
The Wischera freezes between late October / early November to late April.
