The Tundscha (Bulgarian Тунджа , Greek Tonzos , Latin Taenarus / Tonzus , Turkish Tunca Nehri ) is a river in Bulgaria and Turkey .

The Tundscha rises in the central Balkan Mountains near the Botew summit . From the source to Yambol , the tundscha flows roughly in an easterly direction. From there it flows in a southerly direction and forms the border between the mountains Sakar and Strandscha . At Edirne , on Turkish territory, the Tundscha flows into the Mariza . The Tundscha is the largest tributary of the Mariza.
River system
The tundscha is about 350 km long and has about 50 tributaries - the larger ones are Motschuritsa (Мочурица), Popowska (Поповска) and Sinapowska (Синаповска).
The river is dammed by two large reservoirs - Koprinka Reservoir ( Bulgar . Язовир Копринка, formerly Georgi Dimitrov Reservoir) and Schrebtschewo Reservoir (Bulgarian язовир Жребчево).
Others
Since 2005 he has given its name to the Tundscha Glacier on Livingston Island in Antarctica.
