The Tunga ( Kannada : ತುಂಗಾ , Tuṅgā ) is the left source river of the Tungabhadra in the Indian state of Karnataka .

The Tunga has its source in the Western Ghats at Mount Varaha Parvata . The river flows through the districts of Chikmagalur and Shimoga . In Koodli it unites with the river Bhadra and is then called Tungabhadra in the further course . The Tunga has a river length of 147 km. The Tungabhadra finally flows into the Krishna in the state of Telangana .
