Tungua is an island in the extreme south of Ha'apai in the Pacific . Politically, it belongs to the Kingdom of Tonga . The island has about 230 residents.
geography
The motu is in the Lulunga area . There are numerous other islets in the vicinity: Luanamo , ʻOʻua , Kongaloto , Nukulai , Kito (Keetoo), and other reefs. There is a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the island .
climate
The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Like the other islands of the Vavaʻu group, Tungua is occasionally hit by cyclones .
