Tunnel Club

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tunnel Club is a hardtrance , hardstyle , hardcore , uptempo and techno club in Hamburg and has existed since November 1993.

The tunnel , as it is mostly called in a simplified way, is open on Fridays and Saturdays (as of December 2018). The resident DJs are DJ Dean , DJ Shoko and DJ Apollo, as well as DJ Yanny, one of the oldest representatives in his branch. There are often special events for which many DJs from the scene come together.

Georg Roll initially organized illegal underground parties in a former nightclub in Große Freiheit , which led to the establishment of the first location, which had to close after a few years due to drug problems. The music program changed more and more to hardcore techno . After the tunnel at the Reeperbahn was closed, the club reopened at Hans Albers Platz, then on Seilerstr. (Parallel street of the Reeperbahn / Ex “The Front”), then moved to Große Freiheit 7 and has now had its permanent place since 2014 at Beatles Platz 1 (corner of Große Freiheit). In May 2000 the club's license was temporarily withdrawn because of MDMA trading.

The in-house label Tunnel Records , which belongs to the Tunnel Club , has released various vinyl records, artist albums and compilations such as Tunnel Trance Force and DJ Networx since 1994 . The tunnel regularly had its own float at the Love Parade and the Hamburg Generation Move . In 2015 the label was closed.
