Tup Tup is a Yugoslav animated short film directed by Nedeljko Dragić from 1972.

action

A man is lying in bed reading a newspaper. Again and again he is disturbed by the same deep noise ( Tup Tup ) that makes him jump out of bed and angrily knock on the floor and ceiling. The noise, however, continues and the man finally blows up his house. The bed ends up in the open. When the noise persists, the man sets fire to more houses, soon chases every person he sees and finally goes crazy. This is followed by rampages of amok through districts and entire cities, which he lays to rubble and ashes. At some point the man lies there, exhausted, and the noise has stopped. Now he digs his own grave and shoots himself. The pistol becomes a frog prince, whom the man kisses. The frog transforms into a woman, with whom the man lies down in his grave. He hangs the crown on the grave cross.

Awards

Tup Tup was nominated in 1973 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ", but could not prevail against A Christmas Carol .
