Turid Kristensen

Turid Kristensen (born October 8, 1966 ) is a Norwegian politician of the conservative Høyre party . She has been a member of the Storting since 2017 .

Life

Kristensen started working at the University of Oslo in 1987 after completing her degree in business administration at the Norwegian Business School . In 2007 she became a member of Lørenskog's local parliament .

In the 2013 general election , Kristensen missed entry into the Norwegian national parliament in Storting . In the 2017 election she received a mandate for the constituency and the then province of Akershus . She became a member of Parliament's Education and Research Committee.

Positions

Kristensen proposed in February 2019 that the number of grades in Norwegian should be reduced. Pupils should no longer receive separate grades in both Norwegian written languages, but one joint. The aim is to achieve a better balance between Norwegian and the other subjects. She explained that this should also help the boys, who on average have lower grades in Norwegian, to improve their assessment through other subjects.
