The area of Hecken am Gaisberg is a landscape protection area in the area of ​​the city of Balingen in the Zollernalbkreis that was designated by the Balingen District Office on February 14, 1939 .

location

The comparatively small landscape protection area with only 2.1 hectares is located on parcel no. 2453 in the Erzingen district on a south-facing slope of the Gais- or Geischberg, about 300 m north of the village of Erzingen. It belongs to the natural area Southwestern Alb foreland .

Landscape character

There is a large wood with sycamore and ash in the reserve. The rest of the slope is used for fruit growing. In the east of the area there is a poor, lowland hay meadow.

Contiguous protected areas

The landscape protection area is partly in the FFH area Kleiner Heuberg and Albvorland near Balingen .
