The FFH area Kleiner Heuberg and Albvorland near Balingen is located in the center of Baden-Württemberg and is part of the European Natura 2000 network of protected areas . It was designated in 2005 by the Tübingen regional council.

The approximately 873 hectare (hectare) protected area Kleiner Heuberg and Albvorland near Balingen is located in the natural area of the southwestern Alb foreland . The eleven sub-areas are located in the municipalities of Balingen , Dautmergen , Dormettingen , Dotternhausen and Geislingen in the Zollernalb district .

description

The nature of the landscape of the protected area is mainly characterized by lean meadows, grasslands and juniper heaths. The landscape in the area is structured on a small scale and represents a representative landscape section for the central foothills of the Alb.
