Of particular ecological importance here are:

  • the desert-rich semi-arid grass,
  • the species-rich smooth oat meadows of dry and moist characteristics,
  • the wet areas,
  • the orchards,

  • the hedges,
  • the fringing companies,
  • the species-rich forest.

The richly textured landscape with its different plant formations provides habitat for numerous species of insects (eg. As butterflies and moths, locusts) and for many endangered species of birds (eg. B. backed Shrike , Great Gray Shrike , Wryneck ).

Flora and fauna

So far, 279 plant and 106 animal species have been registered at Eichberg. Orchid species such as large two-leaf , forest hyacinth , bee ragwort and mosquito handelwort grow on the poor grassland .
