Warrenberg is a designated nature reserve with the number 4.172 by ordinance of the Tübingen regional council of September 14, 1990 .

location

The nature reserve is located in the natural area of ​​the southwestern Alb foreland . It is a high meadow surrounded by forest about 400 meters south-west of the Owingen district of the city of Haigerloch . The protected area is part of FFH area No. 7619-311 areas between Bisingen, Haigerloch and Rosenfeld .

Protection purpose

According to the ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation, care and improvement of a diversely structured part of the landscape in the foreland of the south-west Alb with the associated extensive agricultural use as a habitat for endangered and protected animal and plant species as well as a cultural and historical relic.

Flora and fauna

In the area of the plant species Cowslip , meadow sage , spring cinquefoil , winged Orchid and gentian before. The butterfly species represented are: swallowtail , large meadow bird and blue gentian ant .
