Salenhofweiher is a nature reserve designated by the Tübingen Regional Council of June 9, 1983 with the number 4.107.
location
The nature reserve is located in the Obere Gäue natural area . It is located about 1000 meters east-southeast of the Trillfingen district of the city of Haigerloch and 100 meters north of the Breilried nature reserve . It is part of the FFH area No. 7619-311 areas between Bisingen, Haigerloch and Rosenfeld .
Protection purpose
According to the ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation of the near-natural pond with its reeds, the adjacent Salen forest and the adjacent wet meadows. The pond is of particular importance for numerous typical animal and plant species, some of which are threatened with extinction and bound to the water.
fauna
53 different breeding bird species have been registered in the reserve, including the little grebe , reed warbler , whinchat and gray bunting . The area is of supraregional importance thanks to the density of dragonflies. 22 different dragonflies were detected at the Salenhofweiher - more than a quarter of all species native to Germany.
