The approximately 128 hectare Irrenberg-Hundsücken nature reserve is part of the natural area of the High Swabian Jura and the southwestern Alb foreland in the area of the Irrenberg and Hundsücken mountains . It lies at an altitude of 700 to 930 m above sea level. NN and includes parts of the Alb plateau, slopes of the Albtrauf and the Roschbachtal and lies within the districts of Pfeffingen (to Albstadt), Streichen , Zillhausen (both to Balingen) and Bisingen and Thanheim (both to Bisingen).
