Längenloch is a nature reserve designated by the Tübingen Regional Council of November 24, 1980 with the number 4.083.

location

The nature reserve is located in the Hohe Schwabenalb natural area and is around 800 meters west of Onstmettingen in the immediate vicinity of the Geifitze nature reserve . It is completely surrounded by conservation area no. 4.17.001 Albstadt- Bitz . The area is part of the FFH area No. 7719-341 areas around Albstadt as well as of the bird sanctuary No. 7820-441 Südwestalb and Upper Danube Valley .

Protection purpose

According to the ordinance, the protection purpose is the preservation of the charming southern slope, which is covered with large beeches and junipers, with its numerous rare plants, especially endangered orchids.

The peculiarity of the flora of the area is shown by the occurrence of 14 protected plant species, including fly ragwort , bee ragwort and horn orchid .
