The area around Albstadt is located in the south of Baden-Württemberg and is part of the European Natura 2000 network of protected areas . It was designated in 2005 by the Tübingen regional council.
location
The approximately 1572 hectare (ha) protected area around Albstadt is located in the Hohe Schwabenalb natural area . The twelve sub-areas are located in the municipalities of Balingen , Bisingen , Albstadt , Burladingen , Hechingen and Jungingen in the Zollernalb district .
description
The nature of the landscape of the protected area is essentially shaped by the plateau of the Zollernalb with its meager mountain and lowland meadows, juniper heaths and grasslands as well as the steep, rocky slopes of the Albtraufs.
