Areas around the Laucherttal is a protected area (protected area identifier DE-7821-341) in the south of the German state of Baden-Württemberg, designated by the Tübingen regional council in accordance with Directive 92/43 / EEC (Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive) .

location

The nature reserve of around 1658 hectares (ha) belongs to the High Swabian Alb , the Middle Kuppenalb and the Middle Area Alb .

Its eight sub-areas extend between Trochtelfingen in the north along the Lauchert to its confluence with the Danube at Sigmaringendorf in the south in the following three districts , six cities and three municipalities :

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of an area with 45 caves , a side valley of the Danube with near-natural forests in the slope area, rocks, remnants of poor grassland, flowing water and remnants of alluvial or gallery forests and one of the few fens in the Swabian Alb .
