The area between Sigmaringen and Meßkirch was a protected area (protected area identifier DE-7920-341) in the south-east of the German state of Baden-Württemberg, designated by the Tübingen regional council in accordance with Directive 92/43 / EEC (Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive) . It was merged in 2015 in the FFH area Riede and Gewässer bei Mengen and Pfullendorf .
location
The 28.9 hectares (ha) large reserve areas between Sigmaringen and Meßkirch belongs natural area on the Danube Ablach plates . Its four sub-areas lie between Meßkirch (13,2236 ha = 45.6 percent) in the southwest and Sigmaringen (15,724 ha = 54.4 percent) in the northeast.
Protection purpose
Essential protective purpose is firstly, the preservation of the local situation of the village Menningen , then a Felsentäle mentioned wooded valley with three caves , only occasionally water-bearing waters, shaded, moss rich rocks - pending Jurassic at the southern edge of the Swabian Alb , last Jura foothills amidst rißeiszeitlichen deposits - as well as the three ponds Gögginger, Ablacher and Wusthauer Weiher with traditional pond management located within the Sigmaringer Forest .
Habitats
The variety of dry and moist habitat types in the protected area is made up of, among other things, “natural, nutrient-rich lakes”, “moist tall herbaceous meadows”, “caves”, “alluvial forests with alders, ash trees, willows”, “woodruff beech forests” and “mixed ravine and hillside forests” “Described.
