The FFH area Albtrauf Pfullingen is a protected area (protected area identifier DE-7522-341) in the German state of Baden-Württemberg that was registered in 2005 by the Tübingen regional council according to Directive 92/43 / EEC (Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive) . With the ordinance of the regional council of Tübingen on the definition of areas of community importance of November 5, 2018, the protected area was established.
location
The largely contiguous, 3678.66 hectare protected area belongs to the natural areas 094 - Middle Kuppenalb and 101 - Foreland of the central Swabian Alb within the natural spatial units 09 - Swabian Alb and 10 - Swabian Keuper-Lias-Land . It extends over the markings of four cities and communities in the Reutlingen district:
- Eningen under Achalm : 735.73 ha = 20%
- Pfullingen : 993.24 ha = 27%
- Sonnenbühl : 294.29 ha = 8%
- Lichtenstein : 1618.61 ha = 44%
Description and purpose of protection
The protected area extends over the Albtrauf in the Echaztal around Pfullingen with valley and plateaus. It is a striking landmark in Baden-Württemberg with geological significance. In addition, a certificate of traditional land use, e.g. B. for the use of orchards on the Albtrauf and poor grasslands on the plateau. Priority mixed slope forests, lean flatland / mountain hay meadows, lime pioneer lawns and lime lean lawns dominate. There are 43 caves in the area.
