Wonhalde-Spielberg is a nature reserve designated by the Tübingen Regional Council of November 2, 1993 with the number 4.231.
location
The nature reserve is located in the Mittlere Kuppenalb and Mittlereflächealb natural areas and consists of three sub-areas: Won ( ⊙ an undulating plateau about 3 km southwest of Unterhausen ), Wonhalde ( ⊙ a steep southern slope at the foot of the Won ) and Spielberg ( ⊙ a steep southeastern slope at the foot of the 791 m high Lippentaler Hochberg ). The Wonhalde and Spielberg sub-areas are separated by the Kienloch valley, a tributary of the Reißenbach . The Spielberg sub- area borders on the western outskirts of Unterhausen. The protected area is part of both FFH area No. 7521-341 Albtrauf Pfullingen and the bird sanctuary No. 7422-441 Middle Swabian Alb .
Protection purpose
According to the ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation, care and improvement of a biotope mosaic made up of juniper heather, semi-arid grassland, meadows, fringes, hedges and wooded areas as the habitat of numerous rare and endangered species of plants and animals, especially those that love warmth and drought. The protection purpose is also the preservation and care of the attractive landscape, which is characteristic of the slope areas on the Alb eaves and meadow areas of the Alb plateau, as well as the preservation, care and improvement of the biotope network between the heather areas in the Reißenbachtal and the heather areas in the northeastern Zeller Valley.
Flora and fauna
The semi-arid grasslands of the area have a great variety of gentians and orchids. The following gentians should be mentioned: Cross gentian , yellow gentian , spring gentian , common fringed gentian and German fringed gentian . Orchids occur: Bee Orchid , Hummel orchid , fly orchid , Military Orchid , Pale Orchid and mosquito Händelwurz . In the area breeds u. a. the red- backed red-backed shrike, which is endangered in Baden-Württemberg . A faunistic rarity is the European blue gentian, which is endangered in Germany . Also noteworthy is the occurrence of warmth-loving insects, the main distribution of which is in the Mediterranean area: mountain cicada , dragonfly butterfly and red murder bug .
