The Digelfeld is a nature reserve in the Baden-Württemberg town of Hayingen on the Swabian Alb in the Reutlingen district .

Characteristics

The area was designated as a nature reserve by ordinance of the Tübingen regional council of April 16, 1991 and has a size of 111.5 hectares. It is listed under the protected area number 4.188. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 162756 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .

location

The nature reserve is a juniper heather with former juniper heaths that have now grown into pine forests in the southwest of the area and an old spruce forest and is located directly adjacent to the place northwest of Hayingen. It is also part of the 3,527 hectare FFH area No. 7722-311 Glastal, Großer Buchwald and Tautschbuch . The NSG Digelfeld is located in the natural area 095 - Middle Surface Alb within the natural spatial main unit 09 - Swabian Alb .

Protection purpose

According to the Protected Area Ordinance, the protection purpose is the preservation of a diverse, small-scale landscape on the Swabian Alb with charming juniper heaths, forest edges, pine groves, groups of hedges, meadows and fields. These are habitat for numerous, rare and endangered plant and animal species.

In Digel box you will find some highly endangered species, including several types of gentian, orchids and the dioecious Everlasting (Antennaria dioica), the Spherical Devil's Claw (Phyteuma orbiculare), the Platanthera bifolia (Platanthera bifolia), the common pasque flower (pulsatilla vulgaris), the Common thyme (Thymus pulegioides and am), as well as the heart-shaped two-leaf (Listera cordata) and the dotted globular flower (Globularia punctata), which are potentially endangered.
