The Buttenhausener Eichhalde is a nature reserve in the area of the Baden-Württemberg city of Münsingen , district Buttenhausen in the district of Reutlingen .
Characteristics
The area was designated as a nature reserve by ordinance of the Tübingen regional council of August 18, 1994 and has a size of 34.4 hectares . It is listed under the protected area number 4.246. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 162666 and corresponds to the WDPA ID .
location
The nature reserve is a south-west slope of the valley of the Große Lauter and is directly adjacent to the place northwest of the Münsingen town of Buttenhausen . It is surrounded by the 9,886 hectare protected landscape area No. 4.15.134 Großes Lautertal , at the same time it is part of the 3,304 hectare FFH area No. 7622-341 Großes Lautertal and district court . The NSG Buttenhausener Eichhalde is located in the natural area 095 - Middle surface Alb within the natural spatial main unit 09 - Swabian Alb .
Protection purpose
According to the Protected Area Ordinance, the protection purpose is the preservation of the slopes on the left side of the Lauter, which are extremely characteristic of the landscape of the Great Lauter, with juniper heaths of various types, semi-dry lawns, meadows, rock formations, stone bars, hedges, bushes and forests. In addition, the preservation, care and improvement of extensively used, species-rich semi-arid lawns with numerous rare and sometimes highly endangered plant and animal species as well as the protection and maintenance of the open steep slope and partially adjacent areas as a link to the local forest edge, the habitat of a species-rich plant and animal community is. The area is a retreat for numerous species from the surrounding agricultural landscape, in particular it serves as a breeding ground for highly endangered bird species.
