Schopflochberg is a nature reserve designated by the Tübingen Regional Council of December 10, 1993 with the number 4.233.
location
The nature reserve is located in the natural areas of the Mittlere Kuppenalb and Mittlereflächealb . It includes the summit and the slopes of the Schopflochberg , located about 600 m west of Trailfingen . The semi -arid grassland of the area forms a biotope network with the semidrythic grasslands of the other nature reserves in the north of Münsingen: Höhnriß-Neuben , Kälberberg-Hochberg , Seetalhalde-Galgenberg and Eckenlauh-Weißgerberberg . The protected area is part of FFH area no. 7523-311 Münsinger Alb and lies entirely in the Swabian Alb biosphere area .
Protection purpose
According to the regulation, the protection purpose is:
- the preservation of a hilltop typical of the Middle Kuppenalb with semi-arid grass, field trees, hedges and adjoining orchards,
- the preservation, care and improvement of extensively used, species-rich semi-arid lawns with numerous rare and sometimes highly endangered plant and animal species,
- the protection and maintenance of the free hilltop and the orchards as a habitat for a species-rich plant and animal community and as a retreat for numerous species from the surrounding agricultural landscape, in particular as a breeding ground for highly endangered bird species, as well as adjacent meadow areas as a link to the edge of the forest there,
- the maintenance of the extensive biotope network from the Trailfinger Gorge via the Schopflochberg, the Seetalhalde and the Galgenberg to the semi-arid grasslands to the east and west of the Münsingen northern area.
Flora and fauna
The area is the habitat of the protected plants pasque flower , spring gentian , fly ragwort , alpine pippau , cat paws , German gentian and fringed gentian . From an ornithological point of view, the occurrence of the rare species whinchat and wheatear must be emphasized.
