Krähberg-Kapellenberg is a nature reserve with the number 4.126 designated by the Tübingen regional council of September 2, 1985 .

location

The nature reserve is located in the Mittlere Kuppenalb natural area . It is located on the plateau of the Swabian Alb around 300 m south of the Eglingen district of the Hohenstein community . The protected area is part of the FFH area No. 7622-341 Großes Lautertal and district court .

Protection purpose

According to the ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation and improvement of a remaining habitat surrounded by agricultural land as a retreat for many rare and partly endangered plants and animal species, which occur here in a special biodiversity and which are related to the other heathland areas in the area .

Flora and fauna

Endangered plant species include: pasque flower , common cat's paw and heather sedge . Despite its small size, 25 species of large butterflies have been found in the area, 3 of which are on the “Red List”: Alexis blue-winged butterfly , small sloe hairstreak and red cube-headed butterfly .

chapel

The area is particularly endangered by visitors to the chapel. The Eglinger Chapel on the Krähberg (781 m) is located in the middle of the nature reserve and was built in 1904 as a simple wooden chapel. The rotten wooden chapel was replaced by today's stone-walled chapel in 1951/52.
