Hüttenstuhlburren is a nature reserve designated by the Tübingen regional council of December 21, 1994 with the number 4.253.
location
The nature reserve is located in the Mittlere Kuppenalb natural area . It is located on the plateau of the Swabian Alb around 1000 m west of the Eglingen district of the Hohenstein community . The protected area is part of the FFH area No. 7622-341 Großes Lautertal and district court .
Protection purpose
According to the regulation, the protective purpose is
- the preservation of a hilltop typical of the Mittlere Kuppenalb with its biotope mosaic of juniper heather of various forms and groups of bushes, forest areas and hay meadows;
- the preservation of the attractive landscape typical of the Middle Kuppenalb due to this biotope mosaic;
- the preservation, care and improvement of the semi-arid grassland with its numerous rare and in some cases endangered plant and animal species;
- the preservation of the sinkhole in the area as a geological testimony;
- the maintenance of a biotope network between the juniper heather areas on the Hüttenstuhlburren and on the Geißberg .
Flora and fauna
An endangered plant species are available: ordinary Katzenpfötchen , yellow gentian , Common ball flower , fly orchid , clove broomrape , Common Pasque and mountain germander . In the hedges and woods of the area the bird species nesting red-backed killer , linnet , fitis and pipit .
Children's reserve
The first child nature reserve in Germany was set up by the Hohenstein community and borders the Hüttenstuhlburren nature reserve . The content and topics of the neighboring nature reserve are transferred to play equipment and game instructions in order to bring the special features of a nature reserve closer to the children and young people.
