Steinbuckel is a nature reserve designated by the Tübingen Regional Council of September 2, 1985 with the number 4.125.

location

The nature reserve is located in the natural areas of the Mittlere Kuppenalb and Mittlereflächealb . It is a hardwood juniper heather about two kilometers southwest of the district Eglingen of the municipality of Hohenstein . The protected area is part of the FFH area No. 7622-341 Großes Lautertal and district court .

Protection purpose

According to the ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation and improvement of a habitat surrounded by agricultural land with many rare plants and animal species, some of which are threatened with extinction, which occur here in a special biodiversity and which are related to the other heathland areas in the area.

Flora and fauna

Of the total of 161 identified plant species, the following must be emphasized: fly ragwort , mosquito handelwort , yellow gentian , fringed gentian , German gentian and real globe flower . Of the 27 species of butterflies, the blue ant and dwarf blue are on the red list .
