The Mackay Point is a headland on the southeast coast of Adelaide Island west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 3 km northeast of Rothera Point .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey surveyed this headland between 1961 and 1962, and the Royal Navy's hydrographic unit on board HMS Endurance between 1976 and 1977. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it 1978 after Donald Campbell Mackay (* 1953), who worked for the British Antarctic Survey as a construction worker on Halley Station (1972-1973), on Signy Island (1974-1975) and on the Rothera Station (1976–1978) worked.
