Greuthau is a nature reserve designated by ordinance of February 9, 1938 with the number 4,009. With the ordinance of the Tübingen regional council of March 14, 2006, the valley stations of the Traifelberg ski lift were excluded.
location
The nature reserve is located in the Mittlere Kuppenalb natural area . It is located on the plateau of the Swabian Alb south of the Honau district of the Lichtenstein community . It is part of both the FFH area No. 7521-341 Albtrauf Pfullingen and the bird protection area No. 7422-441 Middle Swabian Alb .
Protection purpose
The protection purpose is the preservation of the vegetation mosaic consisting of lime-lime lawns, juniper heaths, oat meadows, groups of bushes, forest communities, willow beech and willow spruce.
particularities
A special feature is the stock of stately willow beech and willow spruce, which give the area a park-like character.
