Helmut Gardens

Helmut Gardens (actually Helmut Flöter * 1914 , † 1995 ) was a German musician, arranger , composer , lyricist and band leader in the field of popular music .

Live and act

In the early 1940s, Flöter led his own studio band under the pseudonym Helmut Gardens . a. Corny Ostermann played. He recorded records such as his own composition "FD 79 - Eccentric Foxtrot"; he also worked as an orchestra conductor and arranger a. a. with Corny Ostermann (“Sing with me”) and the singer Annelotte Sees (“And now Franz Doelle!”, Imperial 17301).

Gardens had its first post-war success in 1948 with the song "Eine handvoll colorful dreams" with the text by Helmut Kießling in a recording with Margot Friedländer and the Leipzig Radio Dance Orchestra under the direction of Kurt Henkels . He also wrote hits like “Under the trees of the old avenue” (recorded by Werner Schmah ), “Look, a man who is a little more researcher, still conquers everyone!”, “Somewhat dazed” (1947), “From Capri to St . Pauli (Schlagerpotpourri) ”,“ I have a rendezvous tonight ”,“ My heart is full of music ”or“ Where are you? ”(Recorded by Ingeborg von Kusserow / Heinz Burzynski , Imperial 17354). He also recorded for Amiga and worked a. a. with Margot Friedländer (“What can the moon do for it?” Odeon 26642) and for the music publisher Eric Plessow . For the song " Makin 'Whoopee " he wrote a German lyrics ("Because I love you", interpreted in 1960 by Inge Klaus and Paul Kuhn ), as well as arrangements for numbers like "Moon River" and "Party Melody"
