Corny Ostermann
Corny Ostermann (born September 18, 1911 in Linden (now part of Hanover ) as Cornelius Andreas Oostermann ; † missing in World War II and declared dead in 1949) was a German jazz and entertainment musician ( drummer and orchestra conductor ).
Ostermann led a quartet in the early 1930s that was expanded into a tentet over the next few years . Until 1940 Ostermann played with his group in Berlin dance halls; The orchestra existed as a studio band until 1943. Ostermann and his elite dance orchestra recorded numerous records for the Kristall and Imperial labels , such as “Das Fräulein Gerda” by Helmuth Wernicke (vocals: Rudi Schuricke ). After being drafted into the Wehrmacht , he played in the orchestra of Helmut Gardens .
