geography
Reißenbachquelle
The Reißenbach spring is located southwest of the Lichtenstein district of Unterhausen at the end of the valley at the foot of the Nebelhöhle in the incipient hillside forest. It is a karst spring with two exit points under an exposed tree root . Their pouring is strongly dependent on the precipitation, on average 43 l / s flow off, maximum 100 l / s. The spring water from the shallow karst initially feeds a reservoir where visitors can kneipp . There are numerous famine wells in the valley above the spring .
course
The Reißenbach runs northeast and takes the 1.6 km long brook from the Kienloch about halfway from the left ; a developed dirt road accompanies him beforehand. In times of low rainfall, the Reißenbach seeps into the valley filling before it reaches the outskirts of Lichtenstein, which it otherwise runs through with pipes. In the village it flows into the Echaz from the left and west at the end of the street named after him .
Catchment area
The above-ground catchment area covers 5.0 km², it borders almost in turn on that of the receiving Echaz itself or - in the northwest - on that of its tributary Eierbach . Only in the west, beyond a very short section of the watershed, is the Ramstel brook , which drains in a foreign river system over the Wiesaz to the Neckar .
