Hessenbol is a nature reserve with the number 4.135 designated by the Tübingen regional council of October 29, 1986 .
location
The nature reserve is located in the natural area of the southwestern Alb foreland . It is located about 600 meters southeast of the Weilheim district of Hechingen on an elongated southeast slope. It is part of the FFH area No. 7619-311 areas between Bisingen, Haigerloch and Rosenfeld .
Protection purpose
According to the ordinance, the protection purpose is the preservation of a semi-arid lawn, surrounded by species-rich hedge vegetation, as a rich compensation and regeneration area with many, in some cases particularly protected and threatened, plant and animal species in an area with predominantly agriculturally intensively used areas.
Flora and fauna
In addition to the small-flowered rose and the real globe flower , some species of ragwort and gentian also thrive . The hedges and meadows of the reserve provide breeding grounds for endangered bird species such as whinchat , great gray shrike and red-backed shrike .
