The Lauchhalde is a nature and landscape protection area in Hechingen in the Zollernalb district that was designated by the Tübingen Regional Council of March 14, 1991 .

location

The nature reserve is located in the natural area of ​​the southwestern Alb foreland . It is located northeast of the Stein district of Hechingen on the slope of the Starzeltal valley . The area is divided into two parts by the state road 410. The associated landscape conservation area is located immediately south of the nature reserve.

Protection purpose

According to the ordinance, the main protection purpose is the preservation of a diversely structured part of the landscape of the lower Starzeltal with the associated extensive use of pastures as a habitat for endangered and protected animal and plant species as well as the preservation of the following ecological areas as cultural and historical relics. Of particular ecological and aesthetic importance are the extensively used pastures, the poor grasslands, the shrubbery and the strips of wood.

Flora and fauna

The flesh-colored orchid , the silver thistle and the Carthusian carnation are representative of the floristic features . The faunistic importance of the area is illustrated by the occurrence of the wall lizard and the common heather snail.

Contiguous protected areas

The Winterhalde nature reserve is located directly next to the Lauchhalde . The area is part of the FFH area Rammert .
