The Büttnau areas are two landscape protection areas designated by ordinance of July 12, 1967 (LSG numbers 4.17.047 and 4.37.006) in the area of ​​the city of Veringenstadt in the district of Sigmaringen and the municipality of Winterlingen in the Zollernalb district in Baden-Württemberg in Germany .

The 50 and six hectares large protected areas "Büttnau", located in a western tributary of the Laucherttals , the districts Veringendorf and Benzingen , about two kilometers southwest of the Veringenstädter and five kilometers southeast of the Winterlinger town center, at an altitude of up to 660.9  m ü. NN .

Contiguous protected areas

With the protected areas “Büttnau”, the “ Upper Danube Nature Park ”, the FFH area “ Areas around the Laucherttal ” (7821-341) and the protected landscape area “ Laucherttal with side valleys ” (4.37.001) are designated as contiguous protected areas.

Within the protected area “Büttnau” (4.37.006) the “ Felixfelsen ” is designated as an extensive natural monument : a 40 meter wide and 30 meter high limestone rock that rises vertically from the Büttnau valley floor. An inscription is carved at the foot of the rock, which says that on Good Friday of the year 1831 'Felix Gauggel' from Harthausen fell on the shear with his horse from this rock and was killed.
