The eastern edge of the Danube and Schwarzach valleys between Marbach and Riedlingen are two landscape protection areas designated by ordinance of 10 June 1992 in the Baden-Württemberg districts of Biberach (LSG number 4.26.030) and Sigmaringen (LSG number 4.37.024) in Germany .
location
The five sub-areas of a total of around 465 hectares (ha) of the protected area "Eastern edge of the Danube and Schwarzach valleys between Marbach and Riedlingen" are located east of the federal highway 311 , between Marbach in the south and Riedlingen in the north. They are distributed over the three localities of Ertingen (262.8 ha) and Riedlingen (116.5 ha) in the Biberach district and Herbertingen (86 ha) in the Sigmaringen district.
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is the preservation of an old impact slope of the Danube and a slope of the Schwarzach valley with a prominent stepped terrain and numerous, landscape-defining hedges.
Contiguous protected areas
The " Upper Danube Nature Park " and the two natural monuments " Grove of trees in the castle park " (84260970018) and " 1 linden tree near 'Sewing Millers Cross' " (84260450001) are contiguous protected areas with the landscape protection area "Eastern edge of the Danube and Schwarzach Valley between Marbach and Riedlingen" or objects shown.
