The area rest Stetter Ried is a September 20, 1996 Regulation of the Regional Council Tübingen been instructed Nature Reserve (NSG number 4271) in the north of Württemberg Baden- community Herdwangen-Schönach and in the south of the community forest in the district of Sigmaringen in Germany .
location
The approximately 132 hectare nature reserve Ruhestetter Ried naturally belongs to the Upper Swabian hill country . It is located about three kilometers northwest of the Herdwanger and 5.3 kilometers south of the center of the forest ( Ruhestetten district ) at an altitude of 640 to 655 m above sea level. NN
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose of the nature reserve is the preservation and upgrading of a low moor complex as
- Habitat and retreat for a species-rich and endangered flora and fauna, especially the glacial relic species
- Part of the landscape of particular scenic beauty
- important part of the wetland network in the valley of the Linzer Aach .
Partner protected areas
The Ruhestetter Ried borders in the north and east on the landscape protection area " Ruhestetter Ried " (4.37.005 and 4.37.040) and is part of the FFH area " Riede und Gewässer bei Mengen and Pfullendorf ".
Flora and fauna
Despite human interventions, many botanical rarities have remained in the Ruhestetter Ried , and the animal world still has a wide range of species : 35 different birds , around 40 butterflies , 14 grasshoppers and 19 dragonfly species have so far been in this valuable habitat proven.
