The Egelsee-Ried area is a nature reserve (NSG number 4.110) in the southeast of the Baden-Württemberg city ​​of Pfullendorf in the district of Sigmaringen in Germany that was designated by the Tübingen Regional Council on July 12, 1983 .

location

The approximately 5.3 hectare large nature reserve Egelsee-Ried is one natural area to the Upper Swabian hills . It is located about four kilometers southeast of the center of Pfullendorf in the Großstadelhofen district , at an average altitude of 670  m above sea level. NN

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of a wetland ( fen ) and a secondary biotope (disused gravel pit ) with a species-rich and individual-rich wet biotope flora and fauna. The combination of both areas creates a compensation and regeneration area in the middle of the intensively used agricultural landscape.

Partner protected areas

The Egelsee-Ried nature reserve is part of the FFH area " Riede und Gewässer bei Mengen and Pfullendorf ".
