The Altshausen-Laubbach-Fleischwangen area is a protected landscape area (LSG numbers 4.36.050 and 4.37.030) in the Baden-Württemberg municipalities of Altshausen , Boms , Ebenweiler , Eichstegen by ordinances of September 13, 1963 and most recently July 2, 1981 , Fleischwangen , Guggenhausen , Hoßkirch , Königseggwald , Riedhausen and Unterwaldhausen in the Ravensburg district and Ostrach in the Sigmaringen district in Germany .

The two protected areas Altshausen-Laubbach-Fleischwangen with a total of around 6341 hectares (ha) are located southeast of the center of Ostrach, west of the center of Altshausen and north of Fleischwangen.

The areas are spread over 664.5 ha in Ostrach or the district of Sigmaringen, 572.1 ha in Altshausen, 365.6 ha in Boms, 942.9 ha in Ebenweiler, 677.5 ha in Eichstegen, 578.8 ha in Fleischwangen, 786.7 ha in Guggenhausen, 537.1 ha in Hoßkirch, 628.7 ha in Königseggwald, 723.1 ha in Riedhausen and 413.1 ha in Unterwaldhausen.

Protection purpose

The main purpose is to protect a large, typically Upper Swabian, young, hilly meltwater landscape with muddy lowlands, streams, lakes and ponds.

Contiguous protected areas

The Altshausen-Laubbach-Fleischwangen protected areas border on the Pfrunger Ried - Rinkenburg (4.36.010) nature reserve, the Pfrunger-Burgweiler Ried forest (100058), the Pfrunger-Burgweiler Ried (4.028 ), Altshauser Weiher (4.075) and Laubbachmühle nature reserves (4,090) and Ebenweiler See (4,179), the FFH areas wetlands around Altshausen (8023-341) and Pfrunger Ried and lakes near Illmensee (8122-342) as well as the bird protection areas Pfrunger and Burgweiler Ried (8022-401) and Blitzenreuter Seenplatte Altshauser Weiher (8123-441).
