The Ruhestettener Ried area is a protected landscape area (LSG number 4.37.005) in the area of ​​the Baden-Württemberg city ​​of Pfullendorf and the communities Herdwangen-Schönach and Wald in the Sigmaringen district in Germany .

location

The approximately seven hectare protected area “Ruhestettener Ried” belongs to the natural area “ Upper Swabian Hügelland ” and is drained by the Linzer Aach . It is located about 2.9 kilometers north of the center of Herdwang and about 1.3 kilometers south of the eponymous hamlet of Ruhestetten at an altitude of 640  m above sea level. NHN and is distributed over the three municipalities

• Herdwangen-Schönach, district Herdwangen: 0.3584 hectares = 5.1%
• Pfullendorf, district Aach-Linz , 1.3379 hectares = 19.1%

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the maintenance of a reed area with peat cuttings .

Contiguous protected areas

With the protected area “Ruhestettener Ried”, the FFH area “ Riede und Gewässer bei Mengen and Pfullendorf ” (DE-8021-311) is designated as a contiguous protected area.
